Welcome To My New Blog And Garden
Here in Auckland the weather has been very kind since the beginning of spring and has given avid green thumbs like myself plenty of time to enjoy their gardens.
It’s early morning as I write this post and the view from my office indicates that another beautiful day beckons. Also thinking about the water bill Rose left on the kitchen bench last night as I was surprised by the amount. Due to the hot dry summer I’m having to water the garden at least twice a week. Perhaps the time has come to set up our own water supply, for the garden at least.
Last year was a complete opposite of the previous 15 and brought about some major upheavals for myself (will expand on this in a future post).
For the times they are a-changin’.
Seeking out long forgotten and neglected garden tools and creating a vegetable garden, albeit a very average one (another future post!) has been one the few positives that has resulted from these changes.
We’ve not had a veggie garden for 12 years due the pressures and workload of my previous business (yes you guessed it, another post).
This blog is “mostly” about one of my many passions, growing awesome veggies plus a “few other interests” on the side. (will expand on this but not today).
I hear you say “what a relief”, this Kiwi doesn’t know when to shut up.
As I’ve never been one for writing long posts I will end by saying again, welcome to my new blog “Just Add Worms“ …
… my hope is that you will enjoy your visits and that you’ll check back as there will be many more changes over the next few weeks and months. It’s my intention to make things light hearted and sometimes humorous.
Blogging like gardening needs to be productive and fun.
Our son who took this picture was in stitches seeing his father displaying such affection to garden vegetable. Great Lakes lettuce.

There can be no other occupation like gardening in which, if you were to creep up behind someone at their work, you would find them smiling. Mirabel Osler
Fantastic blog! I just read about half the posts, as the titles caught my eye, in reverse order. Thank you — it’s great stuff.
